• To our colleague, Bob Gregorish on his new appointment as the Director of Cybersecurity and Architecture at Gradiant Corporation SmartOpsAI. Gradiant Corporation, Boston MA, is a global solutions provider and developer of cleantech water projects for advanced water and wastewater treatment.

• To the team at Canmore based Synauta Inc on being awarded the Breakthrough Technology of the Year Award at the 2022 Global Water Awards, which are conferred on the highest achievers in International Water Industry Research Management. The awards are focused on initiatives in the scientific management of drinking water, industrial water, waste water and desalination.

• To our colleague Layla Messner for starting her new professional practice as a prompt engineer for ChatGPT. With her exceptional skills in written communication and high level understanding of deep learning, Layla is ideally positioned to step into the rapidly emerging role of ChatGPT prompt engineer. Calling all Bow Valley Students Grade 5-12!
New for 2023 - The Hackathon Series!

Innovate Canmore and Callysto are hosting a series of in-person Hackathons in Canmore during 2023.

The programs will teach students in-demand digital workforce skills such as coding, computational thinking and data analysis using open source datasets to solve various data science challenges, including controlling a virtual robot, assembling the best Pokemon team and deciding which pets would make the best companions on planet Mars.

To solve these challenges, they will run data analytics using Python code on Callysto Hub, a browser-based platform that allows students to import, study and visualize relevant datasets.

Cyber Security Programs

Starting in late March, Innovate Canmore will be offering a broad range of professional level, live online Cyber Security and IoT training and re-skilling programs to individuals (beginners & professionals), corporations and academic institutions.

Delivered by first class, experienced instructors utilizing a Labs and Simulation platform model and offering both Internal Certification and an option to prepare for International Certification. The programs will include "Introduction to Cyber Security & Awareness", "Cyber Protection for Organizations" and "Cyber Security and Incident Response".

Our first Program "Introduction to Cybersecurity and Awareness" will be offered online with live, interactive, instruction combined into two instruction sessions; the first on Tuesday, March 28th and the second on Thursday, March 30th; both at 7:00pm to 9:00pm

Artificial Intelligence in Health Care Symposium (AIMSS)

The AIMSS organization aims to inform and educate students on the applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) in the medical field. From AI-controlled robotic surgery and intelligent prosthetics, to health outcome prediction and precision medicine, this interdisciplinary effort aims to foster a collaborative community between computing sciences, engineering, and medicine

Founded in 2019 by two medical students, AIMSS works to inform and educate University of Alberta students on the applications of AI and ML in the medical field. The organization has over 300 members from various faculties including medicine, sciences, and engineering.

In addition to its annual symposium, AIMSS hosts regular talks, workshops and social events.
