Herbert received dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering and Physics from the University of Saskatchewan. He is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Nuclear Engineering, with a specialization in fusion power, through the Penn State University World Campus.

He has over ten years of experience in multiple energy industries including oil and gas, thermal power generation, hydro, and a recent assignment includes the Gas and Renewables portfolio, including wind and solar, at Trans Alta in Canmore.

He is presently a Senior Electrical Engineer at the Canadian Nuclear Laboratories in Chalk River, Ontario.

Additionally, Herbert is the co-founder of Delta Point Wireless Inc., a Saskatoon based technology start-up company which develops indoor wireless patient tracking systems for the senior living and care-home markets.

Hebert and his wife, Abra, own a residence in Canmore providing them with a base in the Rocky Mountains to exercise their passion for cycling, hiking and skiing.
